Synopsis:

Edwin Allen Mercer
I want them all to read my words. And they do. Every last blood-stained sentence, they’ve read and praised me for. They love the gore and violence, the realness. And I get a sense of power with it all because I know a secret: the victims in my books—they’re real and have all died on my table. And maybe that’s why the last book had such awful reviews. Murder is, after all, a dirty little thing. Some can stomach it. Others can’t. My answer to those reviews: find a woman to co-author with. To be the next pathetic character in my book. Pity she’s so pretty.

Miranda Cross
All I’ve ever wanted was to be successful as a writer so when I was offered the opportunity to co-author a book with my idol, EA Mercer, I jumped at the chance. He’s beautiful and a literary genius, but something about him makes my stomach knot. And maybe it’s my overactive imagination making my hairs stand on end when he walks up behind me.
After all, these wicked little words we’re typing are only fiction. They’re only fiction…

Interior Design and Other Emotions

Blurb:

There are side effects to falling in love.

Gina Giancarlo is an interior design genius, fast as lightning with numbers…and autistic. Yearning to be just like everyone else, she joins a drug trial that promises to help her experience a full range of emotions.

With the ink still wet on his MBA, Chris Rinaldi has only two goals—make bags of cash and bag lots of women. Dancing on the edge of insider trading, he pushes his company to buy stock in a pharmaceutical firm because of its promising new autism drug.

As Gina’s understanding of the world blossoms, she forms a connection with the Wall Street hustler, who appreciates her—quirks and all. And for the first time since his sister’s death, Chris experiences true emotions with a woman who has recently discovered passion herself.

Gina believes that the pills are responsible for her awakening. Chris knows they’re responsible for his success. When the drug is discontinued, the cost of “normal” might bankrupt their future.

My Review:  This book is about Gia she is a genius with numbers and loves Interior Design, however she also has Aspergers and that causes her to hold back. When offered to participate in a trial she jumped at the chance.
Chris holds an MBA only wants to forget where he came from make lots of money and have his girl of the whatever she is that day.
Chris and Gia’s stories parallel in different ways. They grew up near each other. Their families were close, when tragedy strikes Chris’s family, things change.
This story is not just a romance it is a story about humanity and the real struggles that are out there for a girl with special needs, how she deals with this on a daily basis, and a newfound relationship.

I thought this story was great, it really went outside of the box. I felt so many emotions while reading it. Gia really found a place in my heart. A real feel good romance.

Excerpt
How I was so hot and bothered that I had to take matters into my own hand. Well, the vibrator’s hand. You know, B.O.B. or Battery Operated Boyfriend. Or maybe it was the ending of the book that made me cry. Made me sad that it was over. Maybe it was the sweet Happily Ever After or the bittersweet horrible ending you dread. Or it could have been that cliffhanger and the anxiousness for the next book in the series that WON’T BE OUT FOR ANOTHER THREE MONTHS! Why? Why didn’t I notice it had another book that wasn’t out yet?

My Review: Rylie loves her life she owns a coffee shop that does well, sees her best friend everyday and reads tons of books. Her love life consists of her book boyfriends, and her B.O.B., that is until Jax walks in her coffee shop.
Her clumsiness catches his attention while everything about him catches her. She is cute and quirky. The story goes back and forth and there is a little mystery going on even though you will figure it out very early in the story.

In the end I thought this was a cute story.

From The Wreckage

Standard

For the first time ever From the Wreckage by Melissa Collins is only 99 cents!

First, he saved me.
I lived because he was a hero.
And then he was gone.
Uprooted by the fire that destroyed our home, my family moved away and I never saw David Andrews again.
Then, he found me.
Eighteen years later, he rescued me again – in much simpler terms, of course. By loving me, by giving me the fairy tale I’d always hoped for, he provided me with the perfect life.
Now, he needs to be saved.
It’s my turn to be strong, to be brave, to be valiant.
When flames threaten to turn us to ashes, it’s up to me to pull us From the Wreckage.

“Oh, this book. Since you are unable to see my flails and tearstained, puffy-eyed face, I’ll have to find the words. This book is a breathtaking, fun, swoony romance about a girl and a boy whose lives have been inextricably woven together since childhood.” -Give Me Books

My  Review:  When Gracie’s house caught on fire her best friend David saved her and made sure her favorite stuffed puppy ended up in her hands. Gracie’s family moved and they never saw each other again. This is the beginning.
Years later Gracie is graduating college and celebrating with her friends. David sees her from across the bar. This is the where the beginning really begins.
Together they start to build a life they spend every moment they can together are supporting and are so in love, until a tragedy happens. Now they have to really start at the beginning again. David can’t remember anything and it is up to Gracie, their families, and friends to help him.

Honestly I was impressed with this book it had the perfect amount of everything in it. I laughed and cried, cheered David and Gracie on as well as I did not want the story to end.

Also – like always – Before the Wreckage (the short prequel) is FREE!

Before the Wreckage

authorpicABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.
Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.
